Five members of a Hindu family killed using knife, axe in Pakistan’s Punjab province

the 35-year-old victim was a ‘peace-loving man, living a happy life’. The police have not made any arrests so far.

Multan: The Hindu community in Pakistan is in a state of shock over the killing of five members of a family in mysterious circumstances. The members of the family were reportedly killed with knives and axe in Abu Dhabi Colony, Chak No 135-P, 15-kilometre away from Rahim Yar Khan city, the New International reported, ANI cited.

Social activist Birbal Das told the portal that Ram Chand was a Meghwal Hindu who was running a tailoring shop for a long time. The 35-year-old was a ‘peaceful man, living a happy life’, he told the portal.

Atrocities against minorities on the rise in Pakistan
While the police are reportedly investigating the matter further, no arrests have been made in connection with the matter. Atrocities against the Hindu minorities have been on a rise in Pakistan. Last month, a policeman in Sindh province in that country forced a Hindu girl to get converted into Islam before marrying her.

The girl, Neena Kumari, daughter of Ramesh Lal, was abducted by Ghulam Maroof Qadri, who was on reportedly a duty to ‘protect the minorities’ in the area. He forcefully converted the girl to Islam, naming her Maria and married her in Karachi.

Ironically, the incidents come at a time when Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been crying foul over the Kashmir issue, alleging atrocities against minorities in India.

Last month, India and Pakistan traded a war-of-words at the United Nations Human Rights Commission, when New Delhi, in its right to reply to Pakistan’s allegations, said that India’s neighbour was “home and patron to the largest number of internationally proscribed terrorist entities and individuals” and with “one of the world’s worst human rights records”.
