15 years old Hindu girl: Kidnapped and converted to Islam

A 15 years old helpless Hindu girl namely Raveeta D/O Satram Das of village Varnhariyo Taluka Nangar District Tharparkar Sindh had kidnapped by their political rivals and extremists and they raped and forcefully converted her to Islam which is against the basic principles of Islam which says that their is no compulsion in religion.

The injustice in the Month of Ramadan is that not only they converted her to their religion but they forced her to marry a much older than her, without her consent. This is violation of basic human rights and so far no any action has been taken to arrest the culprits.

Everyday this is happening, hundreds of girls being raped and converted every month. What’s law providing agencies are doing?

Ravita Meghwar, a 16-year-old girl, was abducted from the Syed community of Sindh province’s Wanharo village on June 6. On June 16, Meghwar and her ‘husband’ Nawaz Ali Shah met journalists to inform them that both the marriage and the conversion to Islam was at her will. Saying she eloped with Shah, Meghwar demanded protection for her husband and herself.

Meghwar’s family insists that she was abducted and converted to Islam by force. Ravita Meghwar’s father Satram Das Meghwar accused some ‘influential’ members of the Syed community of giving sleeping pills to the family and abducting his daughter.

Ravita Meghwar’s primary school certificate says she is just 16 years old, but the marriage certificate issued by an Islamic preacher in the Samarro town of Umerkot district says she is 18 years old, reported Tribune India. “The girl is eighteen years old, can marry the person of her choice and her Islamic name is Gulnar,” said the marriage certificate. but actually, the girl’s age is 16 – school certificate shows.

Meghwar’s father slammed the Thar police for inaction and accused them being complicit. “A Hindu girl below 18 years of age cannot be converted according to the Hindu Marriage Act,” said Dr Vankwani
